This site is intended to chronical the restoration of my 1969 Plymouth Road Runner, which I have owned since it was two years old. My brother owned it for a little over a year previous to that. It was less than one year old when he bought it. Although the car is in pretty bad shape at this time, having had it in my family since it was less than one year old, I can certify the fact that the car is completely original in every detail except the carburetor (which I replaced years ago with a Holley) and a Chrysler factory add on air conditioner , which I installed many years ago. The actual mileage on it is 79905 miles. The drive train is numbers matching (all original). It even still has both original tail pipes at this time (although the right one is rusted in two it is still on the car). The fender tag is in very bad shape and I don't think I will be able to glean any information from it. Hopefully I will find a good build sheet when I disassemble the the car. I will completely document the car with photos as I take it apart for restoration and built it again. It has the original 383 engine, the original four speed transmission and the original sure grip 8 3/4 rear diff with 3.23 to 1 gears. It also has the N96 option, which is the Air Grabber hood. The restoration will be a full rotisserie operation and the car will be brought back to its original condition except for the color and the engine. It is a T3 color code (Honey Bronze Poly). I am going to change the color to Plymouth color code B7 (Jamaica Blue) and I will change the interior to match. I haven't decided on the engine yet. I have a spare four speed transmission, a spare 383 block and a complete 440 engine. I will restore the original engine and four speed and store them. I will either work the 440 over or build a stroker engine with the spare 383 block. Which ever engine I decide on will be installed with the spare four speed transmission.

The Parts Doner Car. The Back Half Of A1969 Plymouth Sattelite.
69roadrunner001020.gif
October, 26 2006

I recently purchased the back half of a 1969 Plymouth Sattellite on e-bay. The sheet metal is is in excellent shape. I am going to carefully disassemble it and put the parts in my Road Runner. This will make the entire back half of my Runner be all 1969 Plymouth sheet metal. As I get into the restoration, you will see just how bad my Runner's condition is. While picking up the sattellite in Tennessee, I noticed a perfect 1969 Sattellite hood leaning on another car. My hood is in very bad shape. I mentioned to the guy that I could use the hood on my Runner and he let me have for $50.00. It was a very good. trip.
